Central Library in Edinburgh, opened in 1890, was the first public library building in the city. As of 2018, there are six libraries housed in this building. They are Central Lending, Central Reference, Music, Art and Design (formerly known as the Fine Art Library), Edinburgh and Scottish, and the Children's Library.
