Shanghai Railway Museum is a museum for railways in Shanghai, China. It was founded in 1909. The museum is in the style of a traditional British building. It was set up in the former Shanghai station or old north station (Chinese: "老北站") on the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway or Huning Railway, near the current Baoshan Road Station on Lines 3 and 4 on the Shanghai Metro. The museum was opened to the public in 2004, on the 55th anniversary of the Shanghai Railway Administration. The museum has 1,300 square meters of outside exhibition space, and 3000 square meters in the four floors of the main buildings.
On display are pictures, historical books and artefacts related to the history of constructing the Shanghai Railway and the development of railway transportation. The museum is a base for science education. About 8,000 students visited the museum to learn about the development of high speed railways.
