The Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland (Chinese: 上海洲际世茂仙境酒店; pinyin: Shànghǎi Zhōujì Shìmào Xiānjìng Jiǔdiàn), or Tianma Pit Hotel, or Shimao Quarry Hotel, Songjiang, or Pit Pegasus Hotel (Chinese: 天馬深坑大酒店) is a unique hotel that is currently under construction in Songjiang, Shanghai, China, 50 kilometres (30 miles) from city center. The hotel is designed to be built on the site of an abandoned quarry and, notably, features some rooms underwater.The design and construction process of the hotel is twisted with many delays prior to 2014. Since 2015, however, the design optimization and onsite construction progressed at a fairly swift pace. Currently, the main structure is almost completed. The fit-out work would be carried out in 2017 and is now prospected to be inaugurated in late 2018.
